About the ISU Brain Initiative

The Iowa State University Brain Initiative is a team of faculty and staff dedicated to the acceleration of state-of-the-art brain research. The initiative is a multidisciplinary effort between the College of Engineering, the College of Human Sciences, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and the College of Design at ISU.

The team focuses on three research thrusts: Developing technology to treat and diagnose brain disorders, advancing neuroscience, and promoting awareness of neuroscience research. Team members have received grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
