Kimberly Moss is an assistant professor in the Department of Art & Visual Culture, College of Design, and Coordinator for The Biological/Pre-medical Illustration Program, which is housed in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Her research areas incorporate a blend of disciplines, techniques, concepts, and content that are encapsulated in scientific visualization. These areas play a key role in distilling complex science and data into effective visual communication. Visualizations are used in research analysis, surgical planning, didactic programs, innovation, knowledge transfer, and across disciplines. Trained as a medical illustrator, Moss worked in the areas of content development and creation, instructional design, and learning object & tool development within the higher education publishing industry for over 10 years.
