- Affiliate Associate Professor, Biomedical Sciences
I have over 25 years of experience in molecular neurobiology, toxicology and pharmacology. My primary research focuses on areas of neurodegenerative diseases and neurotoxicology, specifically, on the roles of mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative and endoplasmic reticular stress in the etiopathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) with the goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies for treating PD, Prion disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases. I have made several fundamental advances in signal transduction mechanisms associated with cell death processes in neurotoxicity.
